BEN STANCILL BRINGS HOME A 7TH PLACE FINISH

                19 year old Ben Stancill and his TRG team traveled to Chicagoland Speedway for the ARCA/ REMAX event on September 6^th.    Having tested there several weeks ago, the team came prepared to make an impression and that’s exactly what they accomplished!

                “We were fast from the moment we unloaded” stated Stancill.  “I’ve got to give credit to my crew chief, Bond Suss for giving me a good car.  All the guys at the shop have worked very hard on this car to get it ready for this race.  I practiced here in a backup car and we got a lot of information from that test.  We took all that knowledge back to the shop and applied it to the primary car.   Butch Hylton and all the guys really worked hard to get the primary car ready and it showed when we went out in the first practice.”

                “Our goal for the next few races is simply to help me gain experience on big tracks and prepare me for the 2009 season.” Stancill added.  “But, it’s always nice to run good.    I feel like we had a top 5 car.  We just got caught up in fuel mileage and pit stop strategies.  It’s part of racing, you can’t always get a caution when you need one,” laughed Stancill.  Stancill was racing in 4^th place when he was forced to pit under green for fuel.  He came out of the pits in 17^th with less than 35 laps remaining.  The race went over the scheduled 134 laps - ending with a green-white-checkered flag on lap 136 and Stancill in 7^th place.  “I didn’t want to mess anyone up on that last restart.” stated Stancill.  “I know that most of those guys are running for points.  I know how that feels and I would hate to cost someone a championship by doing something foolish on the last lap.”

                “I’ve got to thank all my family and a bunch of my dad’s farming friends back home for making this possible.  I’ve got a lot of people pulling for me and a ton of support from Eastern NC.  I feel real good about Talladega and I’m looking forward to partnering with Mr. James Hylton again to run the #48 TRG Motorsports car.”
